Huntington Beach City Info
Information about Huntington Beach including real estate information
Huntington Beach (HB) located in Southern California and sits between Newport Beach and Seal Beach along the Pacific Coast. HB, as the locals refer to it, consists of four different zip codes including 92646, 92647, 92648 and 92649. HB is a great place to live with condos priced from $500,000 to luxury homes in the multi-millions. Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) connects Huntington Beach with its surrounding cities and makes for a wonderful drive anytime of the day.
Huntington Pacific is the only one set of condos that are located on the sand in Huntington Beach. Huntington Pacific is located on the North side of the pier and Pacific Coast Highway. PCH separates homes from the ocean along the coast from Brookhurst Street to Warner Avenue. Because no homes are on the beach it provides spectacular views from sun-up to sun-down. Therefore, if you are looking to purchase a home on the sand, the newly annexed city of Sunset Beach is the place to look. Sunset Beach is a small fun beach town filled with lots of restaurants and other tourist type shops.
Huntington Harbour abuts Sunset Beach and includes several islands that hold any boaters’ dream home. The five different islands include Admiralty, Gilbert, Davenport, Trinidad and Humboldt. You can also find great off the water Huntington Harbour homes too. Huntington Harbour is in the 92649 zip code, which has seen a lot of recent construction including the addition of Trader Joes, CVS, Walgreens and the Brightwater homes.
Heading inland from the coast on Warner Avenue you will find several great neighborhoods in all different price ranges. One of Huntington Beach’s greatest features besides its coastline is Huntington Beach Central Park. HB Central Park is the largest City owned park in Orange County consisting of 350 acres. HB Central Park is located on Goldenwest Street in Huntington Beach between Slater Avenue and Ellis Avenue. This park features tons of outdoor activities including Frisbee golf, walking trails, picnicking and more. Located in the same area are the Huntington Beach Central Library and the Huntington Beach Sports Complex.
On the other side of HB Central Park is Edwards Hill which has beautiful custom style homes on large lots just adjacent to the equestrian center. Also on Edwards Hill is the prestigious gated community of The Bluffs which features some of the finest homes in Huntington Beach.
Just past Edwards Hill is the area known as SeaCliff. SeaCliff is a very nice area with several high-end neighborhoods located on and around SeaCliff Golf Course and SeaCliff shopping center. SeaCliff features single family homes and townhomes depending on the lifestyle you live. Goldenwest is the main street that runs through the SeaCliff area which ultimately ends at the ocean and the Downtown area.
Downtown Huntington Beach located in the 92648 zip code is where the fun begins with lots of things to see and do. With Bolsa Chica State Beach and Dog Beach just north of the downtown area and the boardwalk that runs from Sunset Beach to Newport Beach you can bike until your legs give out! The homes in the downtown area are referred to as “Tall and Skinny” because they are usually two or three stories and on very narrow lots. Downtown homes are roughly between Goldenwest, Pacific Coast Highway, Main Street and Palm with condos and multi-family residences scattered throughout.
Main Street in Huntington Beach is filled with Restaurants and Bars catering to tourists and the younger crowds. Weekends can be very entertaining with plenty of people hanging out and having a good time. At the end of Main Street is the Huntington Beach Pier and Duke’s restaurant named after world famous surfer Duke Kahanamoku. Huntington Beach is also called Surf City and is home to the US Open Surfing Championships every year. Taking PCH South between Beach Blvd and Brookhurst are several wonderful neighborhoods and this area tends to be a lower key and family oriented.
The 92646 are of Huntington Beach gives homeowners close access to Costa Mesa and Newport Beach along with easy access to the 405 Freeway. With a new Target, Trader Joes and Kohls this area has plenty to offer nearby residents.
Speaking of shopping and restaurants one can’t forget to mention Bella Terra shopping center located off Beach Blvd and the 405 Freeway. Bella Terra has several restaurants, stores, and a movie theatre all in an outdoor setting which is great for the perfect year round weather. The Residences at Bella Terra are now available for lease, and include Studios – 3 Bedrooms. Check out their website for more information at www.TheResidencesAtBellaTerra.com.
